Also in the $9000 prize pool is a second prize of $1,999 Apple iMac computer courtesy of Apple and a third prize $1,500 book package from Scholastic.
Proceeds assist schools with accommodation and travel costs plus some event expenses. Competition raffle tickets are available to purchase through your local public school or at The Western Spectacular - the distant beat.
